You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information to view or amend, please email or write to us.
We retain your personal data only for as long as we need it to comply with our obligations under The Property Ombudsman Code of Practice and rules set by HMRC. The retention periods are:
- Seven years for data related to a financial transaction with Walker & Wilson Estate Agents Limited (such as an Instruction to market a property)
- Six years for data related to a property transaction (such as a Valuation, Offer or Viewing)
- Five years for data related to our obligations under Anti-Money Laundering regulations
- 18 months for other personal data not covered by one of the above.
Firstly, we must verify the identity of the person making the request using “reasonable means”.
We will supply a copy of information free of charge. We can charge a fee when a request is manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive therefore we can charge a fee where we have already supplied the information.
We will supply information within one month however this can be extended by up to 2 months if during that month the request is considered complex and/or numerous, and if we do, we must explain why.
